Request for research participation
Hello!
My name is Dr. Eunjung Son, and I'm an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Keimyoung University in South Korea. My co-researchers' names are Dr. Michael Ellis, professor in the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, State University of New York; and Dr. Heidi Hutman, assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Studies in Education at Temple University.
We are inviting you to participate in a study of what supervisees from America and South Korea experience in clinical supervision in order to obtain a better understanding about cultural differences in clinical supervision.
If you are a mental health counselor, therapist, or mental health counselor/therapist in training at least 18 years of age, and currently engaged in clinical supervision as a supervisee (have a current supervisor), you are eligible to participate in this study. We are requesting your cooperation and assistance by completing the research materials.
Ø The research materials, including the demographic questionnaire, should take less than 20 minutes to complete.
Ø To provide usable information, you will be required to respond to all items EXCEPT for the demographic questions.
Ø Participation in this study is completely VOLUNTARY. You are free to stop participating at any time. If you choose not to participate in this study, it will have no effect on any other benefits to which you are entitled.
Ø Participation in this study is completely ANONYMOUS and CONFIDENTIAL. Please do not put your name on any of the materials as we wish to have no way of identifying your responses. Data will be stored in a secure location by the investigators. No one will have access to it except Dr. Son, Dr. Ellis and Dr. Hutman.
Ø There are no more than minimal risks associated with participation in this study, which include potential discomfort in remembering your clinical supervision experiences.
Ø Potential benefits include helping to provide a better understanding of the cultural differences in regard to clinical supervision, which could help improve clinical supervision practices in multi-cultural situations.
Ø Returning the questionnaire or completion of the online materials indicates your consent to participate.
[*] You can participate in this research by completing the materials online at our website https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/aksupervisee.
[*] For every 20 participants who complete the research materials, one will be randomly awarded a $30 gift card to Amazon.com (up to $450). Instructions on the website will help you to register for winning $30.
