Greetings, all. Hey, today's example of the glorious cycle of life is the next internship interest meeting! If you're in one of these groups, you're welcome to attend, so please fill out the Doodle at

https://doodle.com/poll/6mp2qk3mmm2xhv4i?? and send me an email with any other information I request below:

  * ?CPSY students thinking about applying for internship through APPIC in fall, 2018
  * Your Clinical Psychology or School Psychology (going the APPIC route) friends thinking about applying this fall (please ask them to send me a note letting me know their program, as well as replying to the Doodle)
  * CPSY students who aren't planning to apply this fall but who are counterphobic and utilize a strategy of moving toward the feared event in order to master their anxiety (let me know if you're interested but not yet applying)
  * CPSY students who have successfully received an internship this year or recently (let me know, and we appreciate your willingness to pay it forward by helping the next cohort of applicants)

Q: What's APPIC? I have no idea what I'm doing.

A: Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, which is the portal organization through which you apply for doctoral internships in psychology (including school psych if pursuing a psychology license):https://www.appic.org/ . Please take a look at their website and this year's dates so you can ballpark them for next year.

Q: How would I know if I'm approved/likely to be approved to apply this fall?

A: Look at your handbook, then talk with your chair about your readiness and steps to take in the program to formalize this.

Q: If I want to get going on this right this instant, what can I do?

A: All students should be keeping track of hours, activities, client characteristics, and other information, as well as keeping your CV up to date and spell checked. For right now, updating and grooming these materials is your best use of your time. You should also review the internship readiness requirements in your handbook.

Please send me your questions so I can add them to our meeting!

Shoshana
