Subject: [DIV17DISCUSS] FW: Research Request - update

Dear Colleagues,

This email is intended to solicit participation in a study entitled “Development and Validation of a Scale to Measure Therapists’ Hope for Clients” (Purdue University IRB approved, #1704019103). This scale is meant to measure the hope therapists have for their individual clients. The scale is adapted from the Hope for Change through Counseling Scale (Bartholomew et al., 2015) and based on Snyder’s Hope Theory (cf. Snyder, 2001). Respondents will complete a version of the measure in development in addition to potentially related scales. Participants will be asked to reflect on a recent client (within the last year) but will not be asked to provide any identifying information about this client.

For participating in this study, you will be eligible to win one of five $20 gift cards to Amazon. To be entered into this raffle, you will provide your email address for future contact if you win; however, your email address will in no way be linked to your data.

You are eligible to participate in this study if you are currently providing individual therapy or have done so within the last calendar year. You may be a trainee, post-doc, unlicensed professional, or licensed professional. Fields of training are not excluded – that is, participants may be psychologists, social workers, or counselors. Time to participate is expected to take no more than 15 minutes. Participation is entirely anonymous and voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time. Your responses incredibly helpful in the development of this scale that will allow researchers to better understand a valuable therapist factor in the therapeutic process.

If you are willing to participant, please click on the following link for the survey in qualtrics:
