Subject: postdoc positions - please circulate widely

Dear colleagues,

Please see below (and attached) for two new postdoctoral positions available in the Center for Children and Families, Department of Psychology, at Florida International University in Miami, FL. Please circulate widely, encourage graduating students to apply. Review of applications will begin immediately, and start date for both positions is as soon as possible.

Thank you!
Dan Bagner and Stacy Frazier

Position #1: The Early Childhood Behavior Laboratory (http://www.ecbl.fiu.edu; PI: Daniel Bagner, Ph.D., ABPP) is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to be involved in several research studies (including an NICHD-funded R01 and NIMH-funded R34 described in posotion below) examining psychosocial interventions for early childhood behavior problems, with a particular focus on underserved young children including those with developmental disabilities (DD) and living in poverty. Candidates should have a doctorate in psychological clinical science or related field. Candidates with experience working with young children with DD and with implementing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) are particularly encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates (English-Spanish) are also encouraged to apply.

Position #2: Co-PI Daniel Bagner, Ph.D., ABPP and Co-PI Stacy Frazier, Ph.D. (http://faculty.fiu.edu/~slfrazi) invite applications for a postdoctoral fellow to help direct a newly funded NIMH R34 grant entitled, "Mental Health Services for Infants/Toddlers Receiving Part C Early Intervention." We are collaborating with Early Intervention community providers to develop and examine a mental health service model (training, supervision, and quality assurance) to support parent-infant/toddler interactions, improve family mental health, and prepare toddlers for preschool. Candidates should have a doctorate in clinical or developmental psychology, education, public health, or related discipline. Candidates with experience in academic-community partnerships, children's mental health services research, and qualitative methods are especially encouraged to apply.

FIU values diversity among its faculty, staff and students; thus we encourage applications from all qualified individuals including all underrepresented minority backgrounds, females, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. Salary is commensurate with experience. Both positions are for two years (possibly three), with encouragement for developing an independent program of research. Start date for both positions is as soon as possible.
Please send application materials (curriculum vitae and contact information for three references) to Dr. Daniel M. Bagner (dbagner at fiu.edu<mailto:dbagner at fiu.edu>). Reviews of applications will begin immediately.

FIU Psychology has 38 tenure track faculty, 8 instructors, and 5 research faculty, more than 148 graduate students spread across five doctoral specialty programs and a master's program, 10 full time undergraduate advisors, and 4300 undergraduate majors. The department is young and vibrant, with 27 new hires in the past 4 years, the vast majority being assistant professors, but with well-established and well-funded senior faculty in each area. Currently, faculty hold over $40 million in federal grants (e.g., NIMH, NICHD, NIDA, NIAAA, IES, NSF, DoJ).

The Center for Children and Families, a University interdisciplinary center at FIU, has 45 faculty associates and more than 100 trainees in masters, doctoral, and professional programs across three colleges (Arts, Sciences & Education; Medicine; Public Health, Education) who study child and adolescent mental health and typical development. The CCF has a tripartite mission that includes research, education, and service and it operates a world-renowned, multi-disciplinary clinic where state of the art, evidence-based treatments are offered to children and families from birth through high school. We offer both group and individual services for a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, autism, and depression. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other grant funding to the CCF exceeds $14 million annually.
