Thank you for sharing your email.  I spent time yesterday attempting to get some clarification on how to advise my licensure candidates about their classes and Practicum hours today.

I was cautioned so I held back on advising about today and instead sent them the attached email.

I also shared the resources with Ellen and Audrey.   I am certain you don't need anything from me.

Hello UOTeach community,
I am sending you educator materials on working with immigrant and refugee children during this period of political and social uncertainty for vulnerable members of our community.  We can discuss these issues in EDST 628: Creating Supportive Classroom Communities both this week and next week.

I wanted to highlight the introduction to one of the documents I am sending you:
THIS GUIDE WAS created for educators, school support staff and service providers who teach, mentor and help open the doors of opportunity for undocumented youth and unaccompanied and refugee children currently living in the United States. Educators, school support staff and service providers are often the first individuals a student and/or family comes out to as undocumented.

I know that you care deeply about the children in your placement classrooms.  As a program and as a community we too, care deeply about each of you and how this issue may be directly impacting your family.

There will be an information session here at UO on February 28 for faculty and staff to discuss how we can support the campus community.   I encourage faculty and staff connected to UOTeach to participate in this as you are able.  Information on that session is posted at the end of this email.

You may share the attached materials as you wish.  My gratitude to Bethel Equity Director Tina Gutierez-Schmich for providing them to us for our learning.

I will let my hero Mister Rogers close this email for me.
