Duties:

  *   Increase the reach of sexual violence and substance abuse programming and diversity efforts across campus
  *   Assist with planning, developing, implementing and evaluating substance abuse prevention strategies and other wellness initiatives, while working in cooperation with departments in Student Life, academic departments and with local community constituents.
  *   Coordinate the efforts of a campus wide event, promoting empathy and understanding through the true storytelling by faculty, staff, and students; i.e., the May 2017 event Intertwined: A UO Listening Project
  *   Develop and coordinate specialized trainings by SWAT, Rehearsals for Life and the substance abuse peer educators for various campus departments and student organizations
  *   Develop effective training curriculum, course syllabi, and training materials for the Sexual Wellness Advocacy Team peer education program and the substance abuse peer educators.
  *   Recruit students and market program.
  *   Teach university level course; develop, implement, and monitor rehearsals and performances.
  *   Work with other student affairs, academic affairs and additional campus and community staff members to provide training in facilitation skills for students involved in program, as well as help them prepare for the emotional aspects of addressing the topics.
  *   Establish student learning outcomes for program that integrates academic learning and student development theories, and that are aligned with the mission of the Office of the Dean of Students
  *   Assess programming impact using learning outcomes to evaluate and improve program offerings

Graduate students pursuing any master's or doctoral degree may apply.
Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Expertise in sexual violence prevention and education, substance abuse prevention or demonstrated experience in and commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
  *   Knowledge of current theory and research on effectiveness of sexual violence prevention or substance abuse prevention programming
  *   Experience with arts based educational curriculum
  *   Group facilitation and/or teaching skills
  *   Experience in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, women's studies, psychology, theatre, arts administration, public health or related field
  *   Ability to be self-directed in program development, including experience in writing and editing program publications
  *   Strong verbal and written communication skills
  *   Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
