Greetings students and welcome back!!
For those of you who have taken the CPSY supervision class (and even for you more advanced students who have not taken it yet) we have a great supervision opportunity for you:
The Counseling Microskills class for the Couples and Family Therapy program and CPSY program (and this year may also include CDS masters' students) needs CPSY doctoral students to serve as supervisors.
The class is Mondays from 10- about 11:30 am this fall. As part of that class (as you remember from your own training), students work in small groups to practice counseling skills. To support their training, advanced doctoral students have in the past supervised these small practice groups (to model feedback, provide your insights, add clarity to defining the skills and when they are used, etc.). These hours count as supervision and training hours and they are an excellent way to continue developing your training and supervision skills - all of which help you in preparation for your pre-doc internship.
Please contact Deanna Linville (copied here) or me directly if you are interested and can help with this activity. I think there are about 4-5 group practice sessions only out of the 10 week class - Deanna can clarify.
Please help with this!!
Thanks and see you all soon!
Benedict
