There is an assessment externship opening for someone who has completed both assessment classes and assessment comps. If you qualify and are interested, consult with your advisor about your workload and feasibility, and if things look good, please read below carefully and follow the instructions from Dr. Sarah Silverman. The attached document contains the information below along with the template you will fill out if you are selected for this position.

Dr. Silverman at Strong Integrated Behavioral Health, LLC is pleased to announce an opportunity for an assessment externship.  This site offers training in psychological assessment for diagnoses including but not limited to: ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, bipolar, anxiety/OCD, and personality traits.  This externship will focus on the administration and interpretation of assessment materials including the Wechsler intelligence tests (WISC-V/WAIS-IV iPad administration), Conners Continuous Performance Test-3rd Edition (CPT3), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), California Verbal Learning Test (CVLT-C & CVLT-II), ADHD Rating Scales, Achenbach Measures, MACI/MMPI-2, Beck Inventories, and various other scales.  Although less commonly administered, the extern has the opportunity to learn other measures, such as the Woodcock-Johnson-IV Tests of Achievement, Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (D-KEFS), Children's Memory Scale, Wechsler Memory Scale, and the Rorschach Inkblot Test.  Upon starting, the extern will be required to review the administration and technical manuals for each test and observe the psychologist conducting an assessment.  The extern will then be required to administer and score various tests while being observed by the supervisor, and then will be expected to perform independently.  The extern will also have the opportunity to observe and participate in intakes and feedback sessions, spinal cord stimulator evaluations, and neuropsychological referrals.  In addition, the extern will engage in reviewing articles related to psychological assessment.  Good writing skills and interpersonal skills are a must, as the extern will also be responsible for report writing and feedback sessions.  This site offers a wide array of referrals from ages 6+.
The extern is expected to work 5 or 10 hours per week, preferably Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 9am-2pm, with supervision from 12-1pm.
