cpsylist: IMPORTANT - GEs, clinical work, and externship credit - PLEASE READ

Dear CPSY Students:


There is a new Oregon state regulation that requires students who provide psychological services must do so while registered for course credit. This impacts GEs who provide psychological services.


If you are a GE who provides psychological services, please register for externship credits every term that you are employed in a GE position for which you are providing psychological services.


DO YOU PROVIDE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES?  If you are not sure if your GE responsibilities count as psychological services, read your GE job description, check in with your GE supervisor, and check in with your advisor.  If you plan to count some GE hours as direct clinical hours for the APPI internship application, for example, then you need to register for externship credit.


ADDING CREDIT?  Speak with your advisor if you do not have room to register for externship credit starting winter term.  Your advisor can help determine what credits to register for.
