All-

Our little corner of campus suffered some damage from the storm. There is significant tree damage particularly in and around the Lokey complex (see attached photo). Areas are taped off with danger/caution tape and crews have started the clean-up process. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away from campus today as sidewalks are very slick and not all the hazards have been identified. Please use extreme caution for the next several days, especially walking under larger trees, as there are many broken limbs that are stuck in the tree canopy and have yet to fall down. As we thaw out, additional tree hazards will become more notable. Please report them to me so we can address them as quickly as possible.

The good news is at of the time of this email, none of our buildings suffered any damage and they all appear to be in good working order.

In regards to Campus being open tomorrow, inclement weather details for employees is available online: https://hr.uoregon.edu/about-hr/campus-notifications/inclement-weather
Also check http://alerts.uoregon.edu<http://alerts.uoregon.edu/> for more information and resources.

Stay safe and warm.

The University of Oregon Eugene campus will be closed today. All events are canceled.
Winter weather continues to make for dangerous conditions on campus and throughout the Eugene Springfield area.
Personnel responsible for responding to inclement weather and related cleanup under the university's closure policy (https://policies.uoregon.edu/vol-4-finance-administration-infrastructure/ch-7-real-property-facilities-planning/facilities-and) are expected to report to work, provided they can do so safely. Employees in this category should contact their supervisor if they have concerns about safety related to traveling to campus.
Law students with scheduled final exams will be contacted to rescheduled and should not travel to campus.
If you are required to be on campus, please use extreme caution when outdoors as there are several downed trees and power lines in the greater campus community. Avoid walking under or near trees or downed power lines. There are dozens of downed tree limbs on campus due to icy conditions, and Campus Planning and Facilities Management continues to work to improve the areas impacted most.
As ice begins to melt, there is increased risk from roof slides; therefore, avoid walking immediately adjacent to buildings.
Inclement weather details for employees is available online: https://hr.uoregon.edu/about-hr/campus-notifications/inclement-weather
Check http://alerts.uoregon.edu<http://alerts.uoregon.edu/> for more information and resources, and please stay safe.
