a “duck” and I know we are excited to see what great things she will accomplish in her new role.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Source Sans Pro",sans-serif">For those who do not know me, I came to the University of Oregon in 2017 (prior to that I was a faculty member at Vanderbilt University in TN). I have served the UO
in a variety of leadership roles over the past eight years, including director of the HEDCO Institute, associate dean for research in the COE, associate director of the prevention science institute, and associate vice president for research in the OVPRI. I
am an interdisciplinary prevention scientist and sociologist by training, and I am passionate about mentoring students and scholars across diverse disciplines under the broader umbrella of education and human development.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">CPHS was awarded an “Effective Teaching in Policy and Practice Implementation Grant” from the Office of the Provost. Coordinated by Heather Leonard (PREV program director) and Abbie Sanders (PREV doctoral
student), the grant will provide a 2-day training this fall in proactive circles and restorative justice practices. Through this training, faculty in CPHS and other COE departments will be better equipped to create learning spaces that support student belonging,
engagement, and resilience, and foster more consistent, community-oriented approaches to conflict resolution, feedback, and collective decision-making. All participants who complete the training will receive a micro-credential certificate from the University
