<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The purpose of the email is to flag an opportunity from United for Medical Research (UMR) to share stories that highlight the value and impact of NIH-funded research.
<a href="https://www.unitedformedicalresearch.org/">UMR</a> is a national coalition that includes AAU and APLU and works to support strong federal investment in medical research.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><a href="https://www.unitedformedicalresearch.org/my-why/">Their new campaign, “My Why,”</a> will feature personal stories from researchers, patients, and others whose lives or careers have been shaped by
NIH funding. These stories will be used in outreach to Congress, policymakers, and the media to make the case for maintaining a strong NIH.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">UMR is looking for:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Researchers</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt"> at all stages of their careers whose journey has been supported in some way by NIH funding – those who are affected
by the current cuts and atmosphere of uncertainty as well as those who can speak to the importance of NIH funding to launching their careers or to their ability to mentor others; <o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Patients and families</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt"> who have benefitted from NIH research, are participants in clinical trials, and/or hope that medical research
