<p class="x_MsoNormal">We are pleased to share that <b>Claire Mackevicius</b> will be joining our faculty in the fall as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Studies. Dr. Mackevicius fills our IHP search in education policy and equity. Dr.
Mackevicius holds a PhD in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern (2024) where she is currently a Dean’s Postdoctoral Fellow. She also holds a BA in Economics from the Univ of Chicago. Dr. Mackevicius was an NAEd/Spencer dissertation awardee
and a UCEA/AERA Clark Scholar. Her work uses critical quantitative methods (QuantCrit) and mixed methods to examine issues of equity in school finance and governance especially by shedding light on otherwise ‘stealth’ inequities. She co-founded and co-leads
the Quant4What Collective on QuantCrit and anti-racist use of quantitative methods which was awarded a $50,000 conference grant from the Spencer Foundation. I wish to extend my gratitude to the search committee,

<p class="x_MsoNormal">COE alumna Stephanie Johnson was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the highest recognition that a K-12 science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teacher can receive. Stephanie
earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the COE and has been teaching in the Bend School District for 16 years.<b> </b></p>
