<p class="MsoNormal">The winter Student Experience Survey opened last Wednesday, November 27 at 8 a.m. and will remain open until Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 a.m. <br>

<b>I strongly encouraging all instructors to provide students with 10-15 minutes of time in the classroom during week 10 to fill out the SES for their course. This should begin this term if you have not already been doing this.</b> <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Low response rates to the Student Experience Survey (SES) continue to be an issue limiting the impact of student feedback. We want robust participation to help us evaluate teaching fairly and to ensure we have high-quality instruction for
our students—it’s clear that in-class administration makes a significant difference.<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> </span> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> </span> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Teaching Engagement Program (TEP) has a <a href="https://teaching.uoregon.edu/student-experience-surveys#promote" target="_blank">
Faculty Guide to Student Experience Surveys</a> to make this process as smooth as possible, including a PowerPoint slide with directions for students (see the section titled “Promote the Survey”).<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> </span>They also
have an <a href="https://provost.uoregon.edu/sites/default/files/in-class_protocol_e-ses_11-22-19.pdf" target="_blank">
in-class protocol</a> to follow for in-person classes that mimics what instructors used to do when we handed out paper copy surveys at the end of each course. <o:p></o:p></p>
