to <b>Dianna Carrizales-Engelmann </b>for conceptualizing the event and to <b>Lisa Fortin</b> for making it all happen. I appreciated taking a brief moment of pause from our “business as usual” mentality to honor and recognize the leadership transition in

<p class="MsoNormal">Earlier today I had a chance to meet with our <b>Dean’s Student Advisory Board</b>. This is a group of students – undergrad and grad – who represent all of our programs in the COE. This student group provides the dean’s office with important
input and ideas from the student perspective. Several students discussed the effect of the recent evacuations/lockdowns/bomb threats in our area schools and noted that even false alarms can be triggering. It’s an important reminder to reach out and check-in
with students, teachers, and staff, who may be impacted by these events. Ultimately it’s our shared responsibility to create an environment that is caring and supportive. Resources for students can be found here:

Around the O story</a> about the findings of an ongoing longitudinal Early Growth and Development Study on how adopted children’s genetic characteristics can influence the parenting they receive. Supported by grants from multiple divisions of the National Institutes
of Health, the Early Growth and Development Study has involved the cooperation of 45 adoption agencies in 15 states. The study is ongoing and has analyzed data from interviews, surveys and direct observation of 561 children adopted shortly after birth, along
with their birth and adoptive parents. The study moves researchers one step closer to allowing clinicians to use more detailed family-based interventions to better serve all children.<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
