<p class="MsoNormal">You have undoubtedly read the news about the creation of the Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon. This institute represents an unprecedented opportunity for the COE, UO, the Portland metro area,
and Oregon. I am looking forward to my role as Acting Executive Director of the Ballmer Institute and partnering with Portland Public Schools and others to realize the vision of this extraordinary gift. As a result, I will be cheering for the COE from Portland
now – as loudly as possible. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Be reassured that our college will continue on its path toward becoming one of the most influential institutions in the nation and one with increasing worldwide engagement and impact. This is an exciting time for all of us. As Provost Phillips
has announced, I will devote my full energies to the Ballmer Institute effective today. I will deeply miss working with all of you. At the same time, I am reassured by Laura Lee McIntyre’s appointment as Interim Dean.
