<p class="MsoNormal">We have experienced an important confluence of information this week. Our university launched a new
<a href="https://provost.uoregon.edu/academic-freedom"><span style="color:#0563C1">academic freedom</span></a> website and
<a href="https://around.uoregon.edu/content/aclu-attorney-discuss-black-student-activism-and-free-speech">
<span style="color:#0563C1">Emerson Sykes</span></a> provided his thoughtful and insightful colloquium on “The Case for Free Speech and Racial Justice: Supporting Black Activism on Campus.” Thanks to Dianna, I had the pleasure of attending a small group meeting
with Emerson Sykes yesterday. The clarity of his thinking and his depth of knowledge about free speech, constitutional law, and racial justice are astounding. Dianna will announce the availability of his recording as soon as it is available. And the new UO
website is not without merit. The support of UO leadership for academic freedom serves as an important value statement for our publics and the compendium of related policies and resources for supporting our work is most useful.<o:p></o:p></p>

<a href="https://education.uoregon.edu/epol"><span style="color:#0563C1">Education Policy and Leadership (EPoL)</span></a> Master’s of Science Program is now featured on our website. The program combines methodological training, theoretical grounding, and practical
expertise in US education policy, evidence-based decision-making, organizational leadership, and policy-making processes. If desired, EPoL students can add on an optional specialization in data science. This is the only program in the state focused on education
policy and one of only a couple in the region. Information sessions are being held for prospective students in the next few months. Congratulations to
