<p class="MsoNormal">Today, we celebrate the innumerable contributions of Oregon’s indigenous peoples. Oregon is celebrating its first official Indigenous Peoples Day subsequent to the passage of HB 2556 in May, 2021. This official recognition is long overdue. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As an educational institution, it is fitting for us to take this day to learn more about the contributions, victimization, resilience and strength of indigenous peoples. I recommend this

article</a>, a <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/10/08/a-proclamation-indigenous-peoples-day-2021/">
proclamation</a> and a visit to our Museum of Natural and Cultural History today (see museum details below).</p>
