The HEDCO Institute for Evidence-Based Educational Practice just published this parent and practitioner friendly summary on the effectiveness of using number board games to increase children's math skills.



The Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing - New Grants/Contracts

The Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing<https://csaw.uoregon.edu/> (CSAW) has received two new grants and contracts. First, the Oregon Department of Human Services awarded $2.51 million (Jeff Todahl, PI) to support Phase 2 design, implementation, and evaluation of a revised statewide Training Academy for CPS and permanency staff, grounded in Oregon’s Vision for Transformation, Equity North Star, and trauma-informed practice. Launched by CSAW in October 2025, the Academy will expand to all Oregon regions over the coming 2-3 years. Second, The Ford Family Foundation awarded $110,000 (Sara Loveless, PI) to support the 90by30 Initiative, including expansion of CSAW’s Youth Advisory Council and Parent and Community Cafés.
