Dear Community,



I am writing to share information about several upcoming public meetings related to transportation safety on Patterson Street, particularly between 19th and 24th Avenue-an area that is heavily used by members of the College of Education community, nearby schools, and surrounding neighborhoods.



The City of Eugene is currently gathering public input and conducting a speed and traffic volume study in this area following the recent fatal accident. The meetings below provide opportunities for community members to learn more about the City's process and to observe or participate in public discussion related to potential safety measures.



City Council Meeting
Date & Time: Monday, February 9, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Eugene City Hall, 500 E 4th Ave, Eugene, OR



Transportation Safety Community Forum
Date & Time: Thursday, February 12, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Location: Roosevelt Middle School Cafeteria, 500 E 24th Ave, Eugene, OR



City Council Meeting
Date & Time: Monday, February 23, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Eugene City Hall, 500 E 4th Ave, Eugene, OR



For those unable to attend City Council meetings in person, written public testimony may be submitted to mayorcouncilandcitymanager at eugene-or.gov<mailto:mayorcouncilandcitymanager at eugene-or.gov>.  Information about submitting comments is available on the City of Eugene's website.



These meetings may be of interest to COE faculty, staff, and students who live, work, or travel through this area and who are seeking information about ongoing safety-related discussions and planning.
