coe-staff: Reminder: COE Food Drive November 10-14

Although the state of Oregon has been able to issue full November SNAP benefits, the COE will continue with our plan to supplement those benefits with a food drive.  The COE will be accepting donations of food and household necessities in HEDCO 130 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm through Friday, November 14.

We encourage donations of non-perishable items such as:

  *   Canned beans, soups, peanut butter, and other protein sources
  *   Canned fruits and vegetables
  *   Cereals and oatmeal
  *   Personal hygiene products including soap, toothpaste, diapers, and toilet paper.
There are many sources online that provide suggestions of helpful household necessities that have large impact for students and families during times of unexpected need. We will not be accepting or credit card donations but will accept gift cards to local grocery stores and local chains and can include those in the food pantry distribution.

Once we have completed the collection, the Food Pantry (for distributing the donations) will run on Monday November 17th and Tuesday November 18th (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) out of HEDCO 130. COE students or staff collecting items from the food pantry are encouraged to bring their own bag.

Donated items remaining after Tuesday, November 18th will be provided to the UO Student Food Pantry at the EMU for campus use.

Again, we are so grateful for the care and concern of our COE community. We hope you come out in huge numbers to generously support this need in our COE community!
