Dear COE Community,

We made it to finals week and it has been quite a year! I want to honor and recognize you for the ongoing work each of you does on behalf of our college - our students, programs, research, and outreach - are enhanced because of you. Each one of you plays a critical role in our mission. At a time that is fraught with change and anxiety for the future (for the known and the unknown), I want to thank you for showing up and doing the work.

This weekly message is short and sweet (I'll get more sentimental next week - in my final installment of the Weekly). I look forward to seeing you at commencement and celebrating with our graduates, their families, and all of you!

Summer Coffee Shop hours: The HEDCO Coffee Shop (Education Station) will be closed this summer. Café Verso, the coffee shop in the basement of the library, will be open Mondays - Fridays 9:00 - 2:00 during the summer sessions.

Spotlights and Recognition
Commencement: Thank you to the faculty and staff who have been working closely with Lisa Fortin over the past few weeks in preparation for commencement and in support of honoring your graduating students. And a huge thank you to Lisa Fortin for the coordination, preparation, communication, and general wrangling of both people and information to get us ready for our big day on Monday. It's worth noting that each email Lisa sends towards commencement represents significant background activity and successes.

Faculty and staff meeting: Thank you to all those who played a role in creating the lovely "retrospective" slide show at last week's faculty and staff meeting. With thanks to Esther Harclerode, Lisa Fortin, Juls Davis, Amy Kalani, Adam Pritt, Willow Gutierrez and Dianna Carrizales-Engelmann for the fun surprise.


Reminders
The College of Education Commencement is on Monday June 16th from 1:00-3:00 pm on the Knight Library Lawn adjacent to the HEDCO Education Building. If you are participating as a faculty member, please gather in HEDCO 220 at 12:30 pm. Come early and join the celebration at our annual doctoral reception from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm in the HEDCO lobby and courtyard.
