She will be dearly missed, but she will always be a ?duck? and I know we are excited to see what great things she will accomplish in her new role. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the college as interim dean and look forward to working with you in this capacity. I recognize this is a particularly challenging time at the university and in higher education, but we will make it through this together. We are resilient, and we are stronger together. I am humbled by the amazing work that our students, staff, and faculty are doing to make the world a better place and look forward to supporting that work going forward. For those who do not know me, I came to the University of Oregon in 2017 (prior to that I was a faculty member at Vanderbilt University in TN). I have served the UO in a variety of leadership roles over the past eight years, including director of the HEDCO Institute, associate dean for research in the COE, associate director of the prevention science institute, and associate vice president for research in the OVPRI. I am an interdisciplinary prevention scientist and sociologist by training, and I am passionate about mentoring students and scholars across diverse disciplines under the broader umbrella of education and human development. I look forward to working with you all in the coming year. Thank you for all that you do, and I wish you a restful and rejuvenating summer.
