coe-staff: Facility Manager Announcement

We're excited to welcome Joe Black as the new Facilities Manager for the College of Education, beginning Monday, April 14.

Joe brings over a decade of experience in project management, commercial construction, and facilities operations, including recent roles within the University of Oregon managing residence halls, commercial kitchens, and more than 2 million square feet of facilities. He previously served as a lead carpenter and project manager at UO, coordinating teams of classified and student workers on large-scale renovation and relocation efforts across campus. Before joining UO, Joe managed private sector commercial projects for clients like Domino's, Heritage Distillery, and Tacovore.
Joe's strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems-combined with his hands-on approach and leadership in both design and operations-makes him a great fit for our team.
Joe will initially be located in Eric Owens' former office. However, in FY26, we plan to relocate him to the first floor of HEDCO, in the HEDCO 130 suite, which will improve coordination and communication with our facilities and operations teams.
