coe-staff: OICRC Presentation In the COE April 12 2024

Dear Faculty and Staff,

On Friday April 12th, 1:00 - 2:30, in HEDCO 220 the College of Education will be hosting a presentation and discussion session with Nicole Commissiong, Associate Vice President, Chief Civil Rights Officer, & Title IX Coordinator in the Office of Investigations and Civil Rights Compliance (OICRC).

The session will shed light on the nature of interactions with the OICRC and will cover areas such as:

  *   The technical aspects of reporting to the Office of Investigations and Civil Rights Compliance,
  *   Practical nuances related to reporting (such as kinds of things that will or will not be investigated), and the steps that follow once a report is filed,
  *   Difference between a full (formal) investigation and non-investigation and the involvement of other offices (such as HR, the Provost, Housing, colleges etc.),
  *   Decision-making and routing items that arise in the college.


While the session will be recorded and will include a hybrid / Zoom option, we encourage your in-person attendance and to bring your questions related to reporting and discussing items that arise. This session will have specific relevance to Program Directors who may be involved in both student and faculty reports.
