coe-staff: Farewell Angel Dorantes

 Dear College of Education Faculty and Staff,

Please join me in bidding a bittersweet farewell to Dr. Angel Dorantes who has been a part of our COE community for 13 years. Angel has accepted a management position in Linn-Benton Community College where he will serve as Program Manager for Latino Recruitment and Retention. Angel has served as a member of the Education Foundations Advising Team for 11 years and as a member of the centralized COE Advising Center for almost 3 years. Angel played a significant role in the creation of COE's centralized Advising Center serving as an Interim Advising Operations director during its growth and development. In his advisor roles over the years, Angel has interacted with and impacted thousands of COE students across all of our undergraduate programs, serving students professionally and providing his holistic style of academic advising to move our students through their academic milestones. Angel has also had a cross-campus impact via his ongoing work with the Latinx Males and Allies Alliance.

Angel will be missed by the remaining Advising Team members Dr. Emma Bjorngard Basayne, Angela Dornbusch, and Mary Marchetti as well as by colleagues throughout the college and across campus.

Because Angel's last day will be this Friday, January 6th, we wanted to offer an alternate opportunity to individuals who may not receive this message before his departure to share their messages of farewell.
