coe-staff: Lane County Child Care and Preschool Survey

Dear COE Staff,

As you are aware, Lane County, and the entire state of Oregon, are facing a child care and early education shortage. Many of the issues contributing to a lack of affordable, high quality early care and education opportunities have existed for years, while others were exacerbated by the pandemic. Here at the Lane Early Learning Alliance (ELA), we are working to gather information and data directly from families about their experiences seeking child care and early education.

As part of that effort, we are asking COE staff who have children to complete the Lane County Child Care and Preschool Survey.    AND if COE staff  have friends, family, clients  and/or colleagues who live in Lane County and have children please help us distribute this survey to them.  Below are two sample emails, in English & Spanish, to send to the parents & caregivers that you work with. If you would prefer to hand out paper surveys at your agency or location, please let us know and we will bring you a stack or send you the file to print!


We want to hear from parents/caregivers about what they want and need when it comes to childcare and preschool, and the barriers they face. We are asking families to complete a brief survey which we’ll use to inform how state money is spent locally to increase access and affordability of childcare and preschool. Respondents can enter to win one of five $100 gift cards for surveys returned by 11/30/2022.
