RE:                  Meeting with Isaacson, Miller

DATE:             November 1, 2022

Thank you for meeting to discuss the Dean of the College of Education search. Joining us will be our search team from Isaacson, Miller. Your listening session is confirmed for Monday, November 7 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. by Zoom: https://imsearch.zoom.us/j/95839156944

The majority of the meeting will focus on discussing the position itself and the important opportunities and challenges that will face the Dean. In particular, please review the questions listed below to help us think about the future of our organization and the ways in which we can tangibly measure the success of a new Dean:

  * In five years, how will you know that the Dean has been successful? What will be different to suggest the Dean has had a real impact?
  * What are the key issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the Dean, particularly in terms of:
     *   People
     *   Climate
     *   Finances
     *   Operations
  * What does the Dean need to know about the University of Oregon to be successful?

Once the search firm has had an opportunity to meet with you and other key individuals on campus, they will synthesize what they have learned into an Opportunity and Challenge Profile. It will provide a compelling description of the University of Oregon, its history, mission, and competitive environment, as well as a realistic and enticing picture of the challenges, measures of success, and ideal qualifications for the role. Once completed, the search firm will share this document broadly with prospective candidates and key sources.

After this discussion, you will have the opportunity to share names of individuals who might be considered as candidates, or who might be helpful sources of leads. Please share any additional recommendations you may have to https://www.imsearch.com/search-detail/8728.

If you are unable to attend this meeting, or if you have additional information to share, you can also complete this survey: https://www.research.net/r/82BMCY8.

Thank you for your participation in this important effort. I look forward to working with you.
