coe-staff: ACTION NEEDED | New UO Logos for the College of Education

All,

As previously communicated (see email below), UO Communications is engaged in an ongoing effort to create a unifying identity for all communication platforms. Part of this effort is updating our logos university wide. Please find attached zipped files of the new 2022 University of Oregon College of Education logos. These “secondary signatures” are available as horizontal, stacked and informal (NEW). Save these to your system, as these are the official logos and primary brand colors<https://communications.uoregon.edu/brand/color> for the COE. These new logos should not be stretched, cropped, or otherwise changed in appearance. Any previous COE logo will need to be replaced as your workload dictates and as you use up old materials. This includes blog spaces, letterhead, printed collateral, digital collateral, etc. Please reference the University of Oregon Logo System<https://communications.uoregon.edu/brand/logos-and-marks/logo-system#secondary-signatures> for important additional guidance on usage – and to explain the usage for the new informal logo.

Important to note: Secondary and departmental signatures should be used to represent units within the University of Oregon colleges, departments, programs, schools, centers, and institutes. As always, units may not create their own icons or other unit-centric graphics, nor use any other logo to represent themselves. Such graphics dilute the power of the UO brand, confuse the public, and undermine the messages. UO central comms will be rolling out secondary signatures for the COE’s individual programs and outreach and research units in the coming weeks. Good Morning,

As Randy stated in his most recent weekly blast, UO Communications is engaged in an ongoing effort to create a unifying identity for all social media communication platforms and websites. A portion of the elements of this work was released yesterday by the UO central communications office. As part of the initial rollout, our College will be using the new UO logo (white background and green O, file attached) for all COE affiliated social media profiles. This logo is designed to fit as a profile image in all social platforms and should not be stretched, cropped, or otherwise changed in appearance.

Please make sure to communicate with your social media person to make this change as soon as possible. Also, please review the updated social media guidelines and checklists here: https://communications.uoregon.edu/social-media-guidelines.

The COE comms team will continue to work with various research units and program representatives as this rollout continues.
