Dear Faculty and Staff,
Spring is in the air with all that comes with it (pollen, rain, sunny skies, graduation anticipation, spring fever, admissions season, promotion season, and the list goes on). If you're like me, spring break is now a distant memory and you're squarely focused on spring term and the busyness of our business. We have accomplished so much as a College and I'm excited to hold an "early faculty/staff meeting" with you all on April 15th to focus on some College of Education items that were put off during our busy winter term and last month's leadership transition. Please join me if you can on April 15th from 10:30 am - noon in HEDCO 220 (hybrid Zoom option available).
I can't wait to see you. For now, enjoy the sunshine.
Laura Lee
Updates and Upcoming:
* Oregon Scottish Rite Increased Funding for 22-23: The HEDCO Clinic Speech Language and Hearing Center hosted board members of the Oregon Scottish Rite for a site visit to procure funding for pediatric Speech, Language, and Hearing Services for the 22-23 fiscal year. This fantastic event was led by Jen Meyer and Kristi Schneider and included an opportunity for members to view pediatric treatment sessions, meet with families receiving services, and discuss the impact of previous awards on treatment of pediatric cases with several members of the Communication Disorders and Sciences faculty. Oregon Scottish Rite began donating funds for this service in 2015 and has donated a total of $411, 899 to date. At the conclusion of this inspiring visit Oregon Scottish Rite pledged to give their largest gift ever, $130,000. Congratulations to the CDS faculty, Jen Meyer, and Kristi Schneider on this momentous achievement.
