Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As we all actively grapple with the outcome of yet another nationally-facing trial that impacts us each in ways that can feel both personal and shared, and places many in our community a familiar state of dissonance, I hope that you are each able to take the time necessary to process and reflect on today's verdict in spaces that feel safe and courageous for you.

The timing of this verdict is not trivial as we head into a break where some of us may potentially find ourselves among acquaintances, friends, and family members who we haven't seen in a while and who may hold different positions and perspectives than our own. As you prepare to enter those spaces, I hope that you are able to process today's news in a way that allows you the opportunity to reenergize positively in spite of all the work that we know lies ahead.
