coe-staff: Commencement Update

Hello,

As you may know, the university is currently planning for a virtual ceremony for students. The University of Oregon will host its virtual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.  For more details visit the UO Commencement Website<https://commencement.uoregon.edu/announcement>.  The COE Virtual Commencement ceremony will take place from 10:00 am - 10:30 am on June 12. A number of you may have received emails with questions about Commencement regalia.  While the UO is working on some sort of experience for students in addition to the virtual ceremony, we have no further details at this time.  Regalia ordering will be open until May 10th, so we will notify you with sufficient time to order regalia if things change.

Additionally, at this time the COE is not encouraging any in person Commencement activities.  For programs that are organizing a virtual ceremony, the COE will cover rental costs for faculty regalia.  We will provide updated information regarding individual department celebrations when new guidance is provided by the UO.
