Dear Faculty and Staff,

This message was sent to our donors last week – you. The fact that so many of you are also members of our donor community is humbling. Please read on to learn more about the impact of your generosity.

Thank you!

A Message from Dean Randy Kamphaus

Over the last decade, the UO College of Education’s community of donors has elevated our college to new heights through your incredible generosity. Your collective dedication has resulted in successfully reaching our campaign goal of $62M in support of talented students, brilliant faculty, and top-tier academic programs at the COE. You helped us launch programs with untold community impact like the HEDCO Clinic<https://hedcoclinic.uoregon.edu/>, Oregon Research Schools Network<https://orsn.uoregon.edu/>, and the Health Promotion Initiative in Prevention Science<https://blogs.uoregon.edu/hpop/hpop-in-the-news/>.
[Randy Kamphaus]

Your philanthropy is an integral part of our past accomplishments and I’m excited to continue partnering with you to achieve excellence and build resilient communities together!

With gratitude,

Randy W. Kamphaus, Professor and Dean

Success cannot be measured solely in numbers,

but we are excited to share just a few:
•
Our campaign started in 2011 and since then, over $62 million has been given to the College of Education by 3,136 unique donors and 1,153 first-time donors!
•
The COE’s endowment, critical to the long-term stability and growth of our college, grew by over 200% during the campaign thanks to private donations.
•
Student scholarship support increased almost threefold and currently provides $850,000 annually to COE undergraduate and graduate students.

Student Success

Throughout the campaign COE students benefited from your generous dedication. Scholarship donations created tangible outcomes for over 1,000 student scholars performing important research in areas like brain injury and concussion recovery, early childhood education, early autism diagnosis, and creating positive change in the classroom with the goal of a more equitable, educated, and healthy tomorrow.

“Receiving a scholarship at the COE meant everything to me. I was going to be left trying to figure out what I would do for the following two years of my education. The COE scholarship changed everything for me financially and now I am pursuing my career in social services.”

Research Driving Change

Faculty members in our fourteen research and outreach units have a reputation for conducting innovative research. The work they do is making a difference in Oregon, across the country, and around the world.

[High school students raising hands in classroom]
Our faculty-developed research models, methods, curriculum, and assessment tools now reach 97% of Oregon children and are used in 29,000+ schools in the U.S. and internationally.

Increasing Faculty Expertise

Our faculty are award-winning scholars, professionals, and innovators in research, outreach, education, and more. Campaign gifts supporting endowed faculty helped create a research culture that attracts and retains the best talent. Over the last ten years the COE awarded five new endowed faculty positions, doubling the number of endowed faculty at the college and increasing the diversity of named faculty.
