Dear Colleagues,
As President Schill and Provost Phillips announced in a recent campus message<https://president.uoregon.edu/uos-covid-19-testing-enter-next-phase>, the University of Oregon COVID-19 surveillance testing program is expanding to include voluntary testing for employees whose work requires them to be on campus. Upcoming testing events - listed below - will take place this coming week. Employee participation is voluntary and supervisors are asked to be flexible so those who wish to participate may do so. Interested employees are asked to communicate with their supervisors to discuss the opportunity further and make scheduling arrangements.
UO Testing Events at Matthew Knight Arena:
• Monday, October 26th, 8:00am – 12:30pm
• Tuesday, October 27th, 8:00am – 12:30pm
• Thursday, October 29th, 1:30pm – 6:00pm
• Friday, October 30th, 8:00am – 12:30pm and 1:30pm – 6:00pm
There is no cost for testing. Employees may participate while on-shift during work time. However, employees who do not normally work during the time the testing is provided may participate but will need to do so on their own time. Testing times are reserved with the online registration form<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e9D0Yc7OM1PpZIh>. Registration closes at 5:00 pm the day before each event.
You should not participate if you:
o Tested or were diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days
o Are currently isolating or quarantining due to contact with a known positive case
o Are feeling sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
The testing process should take 15-30 minutes to complete from arrival to departure. While there may be some wait time, lines are expected to move quickly. The testing procedure involves a self-collected nasal swab. Participants will be notified of their results within four days, and calls will be made before 5:00 p.m. The university asks that participants anticipate receiving test results by phone or email and to be responsive when contacted. More information about sample collection and the testing process is available on the UO coronavirus website<https://coronavirus.uoregon.edu/map>.
Wishing everyone well,
Randy
