Dear COE Faculty and Staff,
If you are using a UO-owned computer at home that was configured by COEIT, your computer is most likely joined to AD (Active Directory), which helps make it possible for you to use a single password to sign in to your computer, and to access email and other UO services. When you begin to receive the automatic email notifying you that your Duck ID password will expire soon, please activate the UO VPN first, before resetting your password. This will ensure that your new password is refreshed properly.
To summarize, here are the steps to reset your password from off-campus:
1) Activate the VPN on your computer through the Cisco VPN client software. If you do not have the VPN software, you can download it from this link https://vpnclient.uoregon.edu<https://vpnclient.uoregon.edu/>. In general, it is a good practice to activate the VPN at least once per week when your device is off-campus.
2) Prior to the date your Duck ID password expires, go to https://duckid.uoregon.edu<https://duckid.uoregon.edu/> and click the “Manage Your Duck ID” link.
3) Once signed in, click the “Change Your Password” link.
4) When you restart your computer you should be able to use the new password to sign in to your UO device.
If you have any questions or issues when you reset your password, please submit a support ticket through this link: https://coehelp.uoregon.edu, or though the Technology Service Desk: https://service.uoregon.edu/.
Sincerely,
Ken
