coe-staff: New COE awards

Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on the following new research awards.

Lillian Duran, at the Center on Teaching & Learning and with collaborators at the University of Minnesota, has received 2020-2024 funding from IES for the project, "Individual growth and development indicators: Automated performance evaluation of early language and literacy in Espanol."

Jenefer Husman and Ed Madison, at the School of Journalism & Communication, have received 2020-2021 funding from NSF for the project, "RAPID: Science as an act of service: Enhancing science motivation in high school students during a public health crisis."

Heather McClure, Fatima Terrazas Arellanes, Mark Van Ryzin, and Claudia Vincent, at the Center for Equity Promotion and with collaborators at UT Austin, have received 2020-2024 funding from IES for the project, "Project LEAPS: Latino Education after Public School."

Joe Nese, at Behavioral Research and Teaching and with collaborators at Southern Methodist University, has received 2020-2023 funding from IES for the project, "Developing computational tools for model-based oral reading fluency assessments."

Ilana Umansky, at the Center on Teaching & Learning and with collaborators at WestEd, has received 2020-2025 funding from IES for the center grant, "National research and development center to improve education for secondary English learners."

Ilana Umansky and Emily Tanner-Smith, at the Center on Teaching & Learning and with collaborators at WestEd, have received 2020-2022 funding from IES for the project, "Exploring trends and heterogeneity in the timing and effects of English learner reclassification: A systematic review and meta-analysis."
