coe-staff: Join a COE Anti-Oppressive Pedagogy Study Circle

UOTeach, Sapsik’ʷałá, Education and Community Supports (ECS), UO Black Studies and the Teaching Engagement Program (TEP) invite COE faculty and staff to participate an Anti-Oppressive Pedagogy Study Circle; this is part of a community effort to engage in ongoing professional development on culturally responsive and culturally sustaining pedagogies.

The Anti-Oppressive Study Circle focus for 2020 is on 1.) abolitionist pedagogy, 2.) anti-oppressive pedagogy, and 3.) anticolonial pedagogy. These are the three focus areas of anti-oppressive pedagogy for UOTeach’s 2020 TeachIN.

The study circles are also part of TEP’s professional development for faculty teaching or interested in teaching the United States: Difference, Inequality, Agency (US:DIA) undergraduate courses.

The COE is also sponsoring a COE study circle for Bettina Love’s “Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom.” COE faculty have the option of registering for and joining the COE study circle discussion on:
            Friday, February 21 from 3:00 to 5:00pm in Lokey 119
