Dear Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce the hire of Associate Professor Cengiz Zopluoglu (EMPL Department). Dr. Zopluoglu earned his Ph.D. in 2013 in Quantitative Methods in Education from the University of Minnesota. After earning his PhD, he joined the faculty in the Research, Measurement, and Evaluation program in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Miami. His research focuses on item response theory, statistical detection of fraud in large-scale testing, and nonlinear mixed-effects models. He teaches courses on Measurement and Psychometric Theory, Item Response Theory, General Linear Models, Categorical Data Analysis, and Data Analysis using R in Educational and Behavioral Research.
I am grateful to Dr. Jerry Tindal, the search committee members, our search advocate, the university data science initiative and the Office of the Provost for making this hire possible. I also appreciate the work of Jennifer McGovney, Amy Green, Anna Shamble, and the many other staff members who provided crucial administrative and logistical support throughout the search process.
Dr. Zopluoglu and his family plan to move to Eugene this summer.
Welcome Cengiz!
Randy
