coe-staff: 2019 IHP Released

Dear Faculty and Staff,

This morning we received the final IHP update from the Office of the Provost. The 2019 IHP is now live: https://provost.uoregon.edu/ay2019-20-institutional-hiring-plan.  The College of Education has received approval to move forward with the Measurement Methodology Data Science Cluster position. This position was moved forward as our number one priority (see the attached cover letter we submitted in February). The position was approved at the Associate Professor rank. The remaining IHP proposals were either not funded or were re-prioritized according to the needs of the institution as a whole.

Additionally, the Prevention and Health Promotion with Latinx Populations, and the Behavioral Data Science and School Equity positions were filled this year by an incoming faculty member with the skillset (the former) and an opportunity hire (the latter), respectively. These two hires reduced our 2019 IHP request from seven to five.

It is our understanding that the IHP positions that were not funded during this year's round can be put forward again in future IHP submissions based on our college's future needs and priorities.

Randy would like to extend his utmost gratitude to all faculty who participated in these submissions for your collaborative work in developing these proposals and for the forward-thinking about each department's staffing needs and the needs of our college. While we did not receive all of our submissions, we are optimistic about our future prospects.
