Greetings!
Interested in education policy and practice? Eager to hear about some of the latest research and contributions to this field by UO faculty and graduate students?
This is a reminder to check out the seminar series in the department of Educational Methodology, Policy, and Leadership this February through June! With one to two seminars scheduled each month, there are sure to be a few topics to pique your interest. See the attached flyer for details. Some light refreshments will be offered to those who attend, but Zoom connection will be available for off-campus attendees as well.
If you missed any of the first five sessions, you can view them at the following links:

The sixth session of the EMPL Seminar Series will be Thursday, May 9. Professor Joseph Stevens will be presenting:
Our Journey Communicating National Center Research Results:
15 Major Findings in 15 pages
Joe Stevens, Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Development
This presentation describes work arising from the National Research and Development Center on Assessment and Accountability for Special Education, a seven-year project funded by the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES). My focus in the presentation is on meeting IES expectations in communicating research results. During our grant, IES shifted its priorities in disseminating research results to simpler, nontechnical presentations that would engage and connect with stakeholders in the field. I describe our journey and some of our challenges working with IES to accomplish this. I will also share 15 examples of the resulting products which turned out to be very well reviewed by IES and the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). By the end of the presentation you will be able to answer the question, Did You Know?
Hope to see you there and in the future! The abstracts for the final session this academic year will be provided via email reminder a few days in advance, so stay tuned!
Best,
