Dear Faculty and Staff,
Our university and college have undergone significant changes in recent years - in budget expectations, leadership, and priorities, to name just a few. This pace of change is not easy. For this reason, some units on campus have undertaken a workplace climate study.
Following the lead of other units on campus, and with support from the Offices of the Provost and Human Resources, Dianna and I have been working with UO HR to develop a plan for conducting a CoE workplace climate study of our own. We will initiate the process with a climate assessment/survey. Together, we will use the results of the survey to create plans for enhancing our workplace climate.
Through UO's HR office, we have access to an external consultant who will objectively develop, facilitate, and analyze the survey. I have asked Dianna Carrizales-Engelmann to guide the process of working with the consultant to conduct the survey and the development of associated action plans.
Please be looking for more communication about this survey in the next few weeks. Full participation of all employees will be necessary to ensure the success of this initiative. We plan to repeat this process on a somewhat regular basis to measure our progress, and identify additional areas where we can continue to improve our workplace climate.
I look forward to your participation.
Regards,
Randy
