coe-staff: Education Studies Assistant Professor Sarah Riggs Stapleton receives teaching award and distribution of her work

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am pleased to announce that Sarah has received the Campus Sustainability Award for Excellence in Teaching. According to the internal announcement, "The committee was impressed with how deeply integrated your course [Food and Schools] is with equity and social sustainability, both in terms of the learning and with engaging the students, along with environmental sustainability. The committee also noted the innovation and contributions to the field of Education Studies manifested by this first-in-the-nation course."

Sarah will receive the award at a ceremony and celebration dinner that will take place on Tuesday May 21st.

But, there is more news about the uptake of Sarah's work.

Sarah recently wrote a piece for The Conversation that was picked up for further distribution by the San Francisco Chronicle. Here is the link.
