Dear Faculty and Staff,
I am attaching our contribution to this series. I appreciate the consultation I received from Ed Studies, EMPL, and other faculty that informed this work. I look forward to the event and learning from our students.
More details to follow,
Randy?

Subject: Freedom of Expression
Randy,
The Freedom of Expression Series committee reviewed and accepted your proposal. Please let us know as soon as you have a date and additional information of the interdisciplinary symposium. The committee and Central Communication would like to be kept informed of your activity. To support the series, Central Communication has developed a master calendar and a campaign in coordination with communication staff across campus. Greg Stripp, Office of the President's Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff, will coordinate with you the transfer of the funds granted as soon as we clarify two aspects of the proposal.* These are the details and considerations:
* Funds approved ($3K) - additional funds would be granted if a group of future students are invited to participate on campus (this may be a backup plan in case that virtual connections fail)
* *Please narrow the questions that will be asked to future students down so it is a more focused discussion (should freedom of expression be limited to on-campus environments or in general to their education or lives?)
* *Make sure that CoE students become actively involved
* *How would the participating faculty across campus be selected? What characteristics or perspectives are you seeking to bring with the participating faculty?
Let me know if you have questions.
Thank you for participating in this campus-wide series,
Juan-Carlos
