coe-staff: Extraordinary COE Research Accomplishments

The following message is sent on behalf of Dean Kamphaus:

Dear Colleagues,

I am humbled every day to be a member of this creative and hardworking faculty.

As we prepare to hear from our Vice President for Research and Innovation David Conover this afternoon on the State of Research at the University of Oregon, I hope that you will take a few moments to reflect specifically on the research accomplishments of our COE faculty. They are extraordinary.

Here are some specifics that we can celebrate today:

  *   We will be among the top college of education recipients (if not #1 again) of Institute of Education Sciences funding.
  *   Our research funding from the National Science Foundation has quadrupled in the past two years, although as you know, our research faculty has not.
  *   We will continue to be a major contributor of intellectual property income to our university.

This list could go on.

It is a day for us to be proud of our research role at the UO. Many of our research faculty are not able to join us today, but this photo, sent from the Institute of Education Sciences PI meeting in DC, shows that they are representing us both here and on the East Coast.
