coe-staff: CPSY student and alum win National Awards

Dear College Community:

As we end, today, our official celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, it is my sincere pleasure to recognize two College of Education community members who will receive awards from the National Latino Psychological Association.

Bryan Rojas-Araúz, current counseling psychology doctoral student, will receive the 2018 Stephen E. Rose Award.  This award is conferred upon a student who promotes the emotional well-being and mental health of youth in ethnically diverse communities, with particular focus on working with Latinx youth in high school and post-secondary settings.

Dr. Alison Cerezo, counseling psychology doctoral program graduate, will receive the 2018 Distinguished Early Career Award. This award is conferred upon a psychologist whose contributions have advanced psychological education and training, science, practice, and organizational change to enhance the health, mental health, and well-being of Hispanic/Latina/o populations.
