Dear COE Faculty,

I refer you to the document attached for an explanation of the University's use of Indirect Cost Return dollars from external grants and contracts.  You will note also the outsized contribution of COE researchers to these funds.  I am astonished by your productivity, and I thank you on behalf of our university.

Last year I established a goal of returning 90% of our ICC returns to our research units to invest in their work.  We are doing our very best to meet this goal, because research, discovery, and innovation are core missions of AAU institutions.
