coe-staff: Ad Hoc Committee on College Structure

Dear faculty and staff,

The Ad Hoc Committee on College Structure met on Friday 3/16. We agreed to meet weekly (every Friday from 2-3pm) in order to capitalize on momentum and ensure that there is continuity of thought and action from week-to-week. The goals of the committee are broad (and daunting) so we decided to spend an additional week or two defining what we can deliver and organizing our efforts.

Committee members agreed to go back to our local groups (departments, units, programs, stakeholders) with the following question:

What academic unit structure or structures (e.g., divisions, departments, programs, areas, etc.) would be optimal for helping us achieve our goals?

At this point we are very much in the information/idea gathering mode. Please reach out to us and provide input and comments.

The Ad Hoc Committee also agreed to hold several open forums, to be scheduled during spring term.

We want our actions and process to be as transparent as possible and we value your input.
