------------------Message---------------

Dear Research Community,

We received notice from the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and 16 other federal departments and agencies have issued a Final Rule that delays the general compliance date of the revised “Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects” (also known as the Common Rule) to January 21, 2019. For the full text of the federal register notice, see https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/06/19/2018-13187/federal-policy-for-the-protection-of-human-subjects-six-month-delay-of-the-general-compliance-date.

Until January 21, 2019, institutions are required to comply with the pre-2018 Common Rule. RCS has reviewed our most recently developed and issued materials to ensure only those that continue to comply with the pre-2018 Common Rule are available to the research community.

RCS will continue to keep the research community informed through our dedicated Revised Common Rule<http://orcr.uoregon.edu/content/research-involving-human-subjects/changes-to-common-rule> website. Please feel free to contact Research Compliance Services with any questions.

We request that you share this message with your colleagues conducting human subject research to ensure they are informed of this news.

Thank you,

Research Compliance Services
