Heather Love, a candidate for the Couples and Family Therapy Assistant Professor position will be presenting her Colloquium, "Suicide Risk and Prevention" from 10:30 am to noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in HEDCO 230T.


Heather Love Bio
Heather Love, M.S., LMFT, is a doctoral candidate in the Couple and Family Therapy program at Kansas State University. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Heather obtained her bachelor's degrees from Arizona State University and completed her master's degree in Child Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at Purdue University Calumet. Heather enjoys teaching, mentoring, and supervising students in research methods, clinical theories, risk assessment, and ethical standards. Heather's program of research is focused on successfully assessing, preventing, and treating suicidal thoughts and behaviors. She is particularly interested in populations and factors associated with higher suicide risk, including military service members and their families, LGBT individuals, trauma, and intimate partner violence.
