Subject: Memo on the President’s FY2018 Budget Request for ED

Good evening,

The Trump Administration submitted its fiscal year (FY) 2018 budget request to Congress on Tuesday, May 23. Attached, please find a memo summarizing the portion of the budget request pertaining to the U.S. Department of Education (ED), as well as select programs in the Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS) and other agencies. Additionally, a chart comparing the FY2018 request for selected education and other programs to the FY2016 funding level and the FY2017 final appropriations is included at the end of the memorandum. ED’s budget request can be found here<https://www2.ed.gov/about/overview/budget/budget18/index.html?src=search>; DOL’s can be found here<https://www.dol.gov/sites/default/files/FY2018BIB.pdf>; and HHS’s can be found here<https://www.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/fy2018-budget-in-brief.pdf>.
